Verantis Awarded Several Acid Gas Scrubber Systems from a World Leader in Semiconductor Chip Manufacturing

“Dedicated to a cleaner Global Environment in the

wake of an exponential increase in the use of digital products”

The first project, in excess of $6M and located in the Middle East, spans two separate mods scheduled for 2022. This project will ultimately produce thirteen scrubbers utilizing multiple configurations and twenty-six pumps. The second project, in excess of $5.5M and located in the US, spans two separate mods scheduled in 2022 and 2023. Included in the project is twelve scrubbers of two separate designs and twenty-four pumps. Both projects will also include field service support, including installation and start-up assistance.

A by-product of microchip production is the emission of residual acid gases. If not captured, these gasses could negatively impact our environment, causing a plume or haze in areas of large fabrication plants and a change in the pH of local waterways and vegetation. Employing Verantis’ scrubber systems, the customer will successfully meet and even exceed all their mandated environmental regulations.

With a near century of successes, Verantis carries a solid reputation of performance, reliability, and service, giving peace of mind to its customer base. “In a year faced with many new obstacles, these projects exhibit our ability to consistently leverage our diverse, and dependable, global supply chain while bringing the environmental, design, and project management expertise to put it all together.” (Terry Powell, Dir. of Application Engineering)

Verantis Corporation: An Efficient Player in the Precious Metal Recovery Industry

Recently, Verantis finished work on a precious metal recovery solution in the U.S. for a large European multinational business with operations in over 80 countries around the globe. Included in this fully scoped system was a quench, one scrubber, recirculation pumps, a fully integrated instrumentation and controls system, and field service support including equipment inspection, start-up sequence review and programming sequence review.

Thermal deconstruction is a type of precious metal recovery however, for this solution to be viable, a system capable of reliably recovering the precious metal particulate from the items being destroyed is a must. Verantis makes this solution possible. In very simple terms, as items like batteries and microchips are burned and destroyed, they emit hot toxic gases, these gases are collected and cooled by our quench system then scrubbed of contaminants. This allows precious metal particulate, like gold, silver, lithium, manganese, cobalt, and nickel to be recovered and clean air to be expelled.

In turn, these recovered materials are used to manufacture new batteries, microchips, and other essential products. The system Verantis has supplied has already begun offering the customer a return on investment and offers guaranteed results:

  • 98%+ reduction of sulfur dioxide (SO2) – an EPA regulation
  • 99%+ capture of micron-sized particulate

“With proactive supply chain leverage our team was able to secure the materials necessary to ensure the system was delivered on-time and assist in getting the system up and running ahead of schedule. I couldn’t be prouder of our team and their ability to consistently produce custom solutions efficiently and meet our customers’ needs in an expedited fashion regardless of external factors.” (Don Day, CEO & President)

With almost 100 years of success and proven engineering, project execution and supply chain management expertise Verantis possesses the ability and the flexibility to be a solution provider across a vast array of industries.

Verantis Corporation Awarded a Nitric Oxide and Nitrogen Dioxide Acid Gas Scrubber System from an Environmentally Conscious Global Business

Verantis Environmental Solutions Group has been awarded orders totaling in excess of $2 million (USD)

Verantis Environmental Solutions Group announced today that the company received orders for the supply of specialized equipment and engineering services valued over $2 million (USD) in October.

“The latest orders highlight the strong growth of Verantis in the domestic market,” stated Lars Buttkus. “A substantial amount of large orders were also placed in our growing aftermarket segment.”

One of the recent projects awarded to Verantis includes the complete process design and engineering package for the expansion of a fiber optics manufacturing facility in the Atlanta area. The system includes a two stage IWS® system, FRP quench, crossflow scrubber and fans.

The manufacturing process at this facility generates various acid gases and fine particulates. The IWS® (Ionizing Wet Scrubber) allows for the removal of both the gases and particulate in one system rather than two separate systems.

In addition, a specialty chemical manufacturing facility in North Carolina added equipment to their current system as it was not meeting regulatory requirements. After pilot testing Verantis equipment, a solution was provided that met all the required emissions controls. In addition to the scrubber system, Verantis is providing a pre-fabricated, skid mounted pump assembly and instrumentation. This quick turnaround project will ship early first quarter 2013.

Headquartered in the United States, Verantis Corporation is a global leader in engineering services and environmental systems that focus on process improvement in a wide range of basic industrial and high technology processes.

Verantis has been awarded an order in excess of $21,000,000 (USD)

Verantis Environmental Solutions Group announced today that the company received an international order for the supply of specialized equipment and engineering services valued over $21,000,000 (USD) for a polysilicon manufacturing plant outside the United States.

“This is the largest order in our company’s history and clearly demonstrates our strengths in the highly competitive global marketplace by combining our proven technologies into successfully implemented systems,” stated Mr. Buttkus. “This multifaceted project is a perfect example of how Verantis can solve highly complex applications by incorporating technologies such as incineration, baghouse filtration and traditional wet scrubbing technologies. Our solution not only provides zero emissions, it also delivers recovered product through an integrated acid recovery system to minimize operational cost.”

The project includes a complete process design/build engineering package as well as equipment delivery for the management of liquid and gaseous waste streams. Verantis will execute this project from our engineering hubs in India and Singapore with completion of the project expected in 2013.
